The 2020 Women In Meat Awards winners were announced at the first online awards, held on Wednesday 2nd December 2020.

Hosted by Olympic Medallist Katharine Merry, the awards which take place annually, recognise individuals from across the UK’s meat industry and includes women from meat manufacturing, foodservice, retail and wholesale channels.

Tracey Gardner, Account Director at Fairfax Meadow, received the prestigious Meat Businesswoman Award for the Foodservice category.

Tracey said, “It truly is an honour and a surprise to receive this award. I like to get my head down and get on with my job and feel extremely grateful to have had a career in foodservice spanning over 30 years, and to have spent the last 16 years working for Fairfax Meadow. I have had some great times and faced some challenges, none more so than this current period we are experiencing in the industry but fingers crossed that normal service resumes very soon.”

Thank you to everyone who voted for Tracey to receive this award, we were delighted to see so much support from her colleagues at Fairfax Meadow, industry friends and the client she manages, Mitchells & Butlers.

Penny Tomlinson, Managing Director of Fairfax Meadow, said “We’re all hugely proud of Tracey and there is no doubt she fully deserves this award. Her endless hard work, commitment and knowledge is well known within our business, and it’s fantastic to see it recognised across the industry. Well done Tracey!”.

Congratulations to all of the nominees, and of course, the winners. In a year that has challenged every individual and business in the sector, it is wonderful to celebrate with so many industry colleagues and friends.
