Statement from Penny Tomlinson, Managing Director, Fairfax Meadow

NEWS LONDON 31/08/2021

<< back to all news

We are now four days in from the cyber attack that took place on Thursday 26th August, and it is fair to say that this immense disruption could not have come at a worse time.

As outlined in our original communication, due to the impact across our entire IT business operating system, we were only able to offer a restricted service over the Bank Holiday weekend.

After the incredible efforts of our IT team and system partners, we are making good progress and hope to be in a position to reinstate service over the coming days. The police and the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) have been informed.

I am aware that due to the limited resource, reduced communication platforms and access to customer contact details we may not have been able to make direct contact with everyone, and ask for your support and understanding in this matter.

As we continue to rebuild our business operating systems, we will endeavour to speak to our customers on a personal basis with an update, and a member of the commercial team will be in touch with them.

I am so incredibly proud of the Fairfax Meadow team who have gone above and beyond to help us move forward through what has been the most challenging weekend for our business.

Please be assured that every member of our team is doing their utmost to resolve the situation as quickly as we can.

Thank you once again for your support and understanding.

Kind regards,

Penny Tomlinson

Managing Director
