At Fairfax Meadow, honoured as the Catering Butcher of the Year 2023, we're actively seeking a skilled Hygiene Supervisor to join our team at the Derby Head Office. Specifically, this role involves working exclusively on the nightshift. We're looking for someone with prior experience supervising a Hygiene department, ensuring tasks align with schedules to meet targets. ROLE

As a Hygiene Supervisor, your role involves managing, developing, and leading the night shift team of Hygiene Operatives. You'll drive Company initiatives to maintain high levels of hygiene and cleanliness across the site while ensuring safety standards are met in line with Company requirements. Additionally, you'll actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's delivery of quality, service, safety, and hygiene.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting the Hygiene Manager with staff development, to include on-the-job training, probation reviews and on-boarding. This also includes the training and induction of temporary staff
  • Conducting investigations and carry out disciplinary’s with staff as required
  • Managing the team of Hygiene Operatives to include the organisation of duties, motivation, communication, and safety, in line with Company requirements.
  • Validating CIC’s, providing any recommendations or modifications to the Hygiene Manager.
  • Liaising with other departmental managers regarding levels of service supplied by the Hygiene team.
  • Controlling and managing consumables and chemical stocks in line with budgetary requirements
  • Assisting in the preparation of the site and documents for any scheduled or unscheduled visits or audits.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant food hygiene qualification to at least level 2
  • Previous experience supervising a Hygiene department
  • Food industry experience advantageous
  • Ability to plan and schedule cleaning tasks
  • Good verbal communication and numeracy skills
  • IT literate
  • H&S experience
  • COSHH
