I write to inform you that Fairfax Meadow has suffered a cyber attack this morning, 26th August. This has affected our IT systems and significantly impaired their functionality. Together with our technical experts, we are assessing the extent of the attack, but it is possible that customers’ personal data that we hold has been accessed by the attackers. We have notified the Information Commissioner’s Office of this, and we are working with them, the police and other authorities to ensure this issue is dealt with appropriately and resolved as quickly as possible.
Our business email system is not functioning currently, but we can be contacted on our usual phone number on 0344 4937 051 to place orders. Although, we are able to access orders placed via the EDI system, this is a manual process. We are able to distribute orders, although there will potentially be a significant reduction in our delivery capability while we work to restore our systems.
I want to apologise sincerely for the inconvenience this may cause you, and I can assure you that we are working hard to return to normal service levels as quickly as possible.
There will be further updates when we have them, and if you have any questions in the meantime please contact your account manager, customer services or usual contact on the above number.
